In May and June I had the fabulous opportunity to spend some relaxing time in Sicily and to visit family in Malta whom I had not seen for nearly 10 years. My adventurous and nocturnal brother Andrew joined me and in addition to Malta we explored Rome and visited one of my dearest friends, Vittorio. (Vittorio: this trip wouldn't have been the same if it wasn't for those great conversations, contemplative smokes and night-time walks.)
All I can say is that you haven't lived until you've spent time in this part of the world - until you've drank the wine, eaten the rich food, seen the countryside and woken up in the morning to an espresso overlooking a view of the sea. Is there anything better than this? Perhaps not.
